The business or organization that I admire is 1 of the famous bank in HK - HSBC or somebody call it 5號仔.The first example is an automated teller machine (ATM) , this is a service which we can do the simple transactions on a little machine without lining up at the teller counters. In the old days, we can only transfer and withdraw money from it. However nowadays with the new technology, we can even deposit cheques or cash notes, also purchasing traveling insurance using these ATM systems. So I believe maybe someday later, ATMs can have different various functions which bring conveniency to us.
The other example I would say is the e-banking system, it allows us to do most of the transaction like money transfer; currency exchange; or purchasing stocks; insurance and keep track on our asset through the internet, it saves a lot of time on traveling to the branch, then line up for a teller or customer service person. Now, even my mom, a person who doesn't know computer at all uses e-banking to do 90% of her transaction over the e-banking, we can see that how convenient this information systems is. Are you with us?

ReplyDeleteI think HSBC uses a lot of information systems for marketing. Like they send their promotions via emails, so their customers received the promotion details faster than using the traditional letters system. Also, they have links within the email, so the customers can just simply few clicks on the same page, then its connected to other information system I mentioned in the answer - E-banking.
